Compelling Reasons Why We Gather

Christian Community

We gather to grow a Christian community of caring Christ followers. Because we have experienced God’s love, we are devoted to loving God, neighbor and one another in return. We honor one another’s stories and differences, learn together, and live Christ’s healing narrative in all of our relationships.

Personal Transformation

We grow personally. With God’s assisting presence we make a conscious effort to develop our own bodies, minds and spirits. We do this by transforming the separate self, balancing the inward and outward journeys, allowing failure and woundedness to be primary teachers, and accepting reality as paradoxical and complementary.

Social Transformation

We care for our world. We lift up the God-given dignity of all people and learn from people who have been marginalized, oppressed, and under-resourced. Together, we pursue compassion, mercy and justice.

Individual Purpose

We act on our individual sense of purpose. The discovering of that purpose occurs through continuous inquiry into what God has already put within us. It is awakened and refined in the flow of life and especially where there are convergences of encouragement from Scripture, personal lived experiences, life in community, and a deep sense of vocational call.

Renewal

We allow time to activate our imagination. We engage in relaxation and play so that our faith is continuously refreshed and our relationships healthfully renewed. We are then able to live a more holistic and sustainable existence.

Grace-Filled Accountability

We graciously help one another become our best selves. Together, we support one another as we aspire to live the principles and ethics of Christ—forgiveness, mercy, love, generosity, unity in diversity and individuality and mutuality.
